ACT Theatre Reviews 2021-2022

lady for many years to come, her acting and singing being on another level. Chris Barker has the perfect voice for Audrey 2 and with his clever positioning onstage as a member of Skid Row he greatly helped the exchanges with Seymour. Will Patrick played the sadistic dentist with great gusto, but traces of Lord Farquaad, a part he recently played, appeared from time to time. However, his performance was enjoyable none the less. Aaron Wakefield as Mr Mushnik displayed a tremendous vocal range in his musical numbers, what a voice! Acting wise, a sharper delivery with a tad more aggression towards Seymour would have helped his character develop, but having said that, a good performance. Last but by no means least all The Divas, Chloe Sim (Crystal), Daisy Brown (Ronette) and Megan Bradley (Chiffon) displayed superb vocals The rest of the cast was great as the residents of Skid Row, filling in with cameos when required. Finally, it was all held together by Angela Guntrip and her orchestra of very talented musicians. Well done Abbey on another excellent show. My only criticism is the run wasn’t long enough - it deserved a week’s run.
