ACT Theatre Reviews 2021-2022

Joyce was hilariously play by Gillian Roberts. The play within the play rehearsal both seen, with Joyce singing “Goin’ Courtin”, was a laugh out loud moment. Sexy, snobby and spoilt the multi-layered Margaret was brought to life by Lisa Barlow. It was laughter all the way and the explanation of what Margaret managed to with her bosom brought the house down. Interval time and Mark Craig and the “Call Inn Team” served a very enjoyable supper. Thank you. Strictly Sex Factor (On Ice) The am-dram groups existence is still threatened but the Chairman has a cunning plan for their next production. He plans to devise an evening encompassing all the favourite Saturday night TV reality shows complete with a panel of judges, a mirror ball, and some ice. Time once more for dramatic action! For this production the cast members had their moments with laughter ringing out in the auditorium. The antics of the woeful band of committee members Gordon (Marc Lyth), Joyce (Gemma Cope), Bernard (Norman Beaver), and ‘diva’ Margaret (Helen Davies) burst onto the stage for another impending disaster. Their antics and slapstick coupled with Margaret’s final exit backwards on skates was pure beloved “Carry On”. The show for this group of Little Grimley thespians did, and will, always go on.
