Being a ‘90s kid myself, Green Day was certainly a part of my life growing up. When I heard that Mid Cheshire announced that it would be tackling this under-performed musical I couldn’t wait to attend. The audience members packed in obviously were huge and had the same anticipation as I did. Whilst the storyline is rather sparse, this company certainly kept the audience members on the edge of their seat with powerful performances from the offset. The production was led by a trio of talent, Blair Smith (Johnny), Jack Parry (Tunny) and Scott Heath (Will). These three gentlemen took on the mammoth task of tackling these punk rock vocals as well as playing live guitar alongside the seven-piece band lead by Caitlin and Ian Sherwood. All three of these young men were a joy to watch, and you could tell that they were having the time of their life (pun intended) whilst performing these timeless tunes. Now with three male leads we find ourselves with three love interests: Heather (Amelia Lambert) Whatshername (Verity McKay) and last, but certainly not least, Extraordinary Girl (Georgia Brooksbank). When each of these girls sang, I had to pinch myself and remind myself that these vocals were originally written for male and not female vocals. Each of these ladies performed their vocals with ease and looked extremely glam in the process. Mid Cheshire certainly has a wealth of talent, and this was apparent with the quality of their supporting roles. As the psychotic alter-ego
