ACT Theatre Reviews 2021-2022

I once read that Chekhov was a bit of a pioneer in the ‘play where nothing happens’ genre. This did strike me at the end of the play when everything remained in a status quo. However, throughout, this play does explore themes of purposeful life, beauty, money, and ecology. The culmination of the plot did not detract from the performances or, indeed, my enjoyment of the production.
