From the Chair
I
am sorry to inform you that Sarah our invaluable secretary has had to step down. This is
due to the pressure of work but she assures me in 12 months she will be back.
If you are wondering now where to send you e-mails please send them to admin@actuk.
org and they will be dealt with.
Act in Action
is fast becoming a leading magazine for community theatre. It is a “not
for profit” publication. All the magazines to date have been self-financing from the selling
of advertising space. We will soon be looking at enlarging the print run so we can offer your
society members the opportunity to purchase regular extra copies: application forms are on
the website.
I urge you to support the advertisers and traders; if you need information please don’t
forget to go first to your PC and see if ACT can help. The links to traders’ own websites can
be accessed from the ACT website. Everything you need for your shows can be found there.
As it was said on Members’ Day, we have to support each other. Talking of Members Day, it was once again well
supported. Your society displays created a great deal of interest. I invite you to bring them next year’s members day
which will be on
Sunday, July 13th, 2014.
It has been a pleasure to have been presenting service awards. Very many congratulations to all those whose service
to amateur theatre has been recognised. Remember, application forms are on the website. We also now have the Youth
Certificates for service. and again. the application forms are on the website.
This year’s ACT Christmas Party and Awards Night sold out so quickly. Weighing up the categories, it is becoming
clear that a separate Youth Awards’ event needs to be be considered. Keep an eye on the website for when and where
this is going to happen.
ACT has another new face to welcome, Richard I’Anson. Richard has brought his expertise to the Association to
look after the technical side of our events.
Once again enjoy your information packed magazine.
